Car auctions

I got my car in the late 2003, in a car auction. I paid less than 50% of its retail price. It was in mint condition and I still feel no need in replacing my baby with any other car.

Some may think car auctions are not for them, as they don’t need “2nd hand cars”, but in the current times of crisis, car auctions are for everyone. Anyone can find what suites his needs – from mint condition, non-used car to beat, old, piece of junk (anyhow, he’d be paying much less than in car agencies).

Car auctions (like the ones being recommended by auto auction detroit and car auction L.A) are usually government-seized cars, usually IRS or police , in retaliation to a crime that was committed. The government based auctions are the best – the cars are being delivered in the best condition I have even seen in a car auction. It’s a try.

I would also like to tell ya’ll about my past expriences with car auction programs: some were really good while other provided my askew results for my queries. I was surprized to find the great auto auctions resources that will allow you to compare all the popular auction sites online like car auction toplists, auto auction top lists and other great information centers like car auction locator and auto auction locator… Honestly, I’d be lost without those sites pointing me at the right direction and showing me the major differences between each program. The professional reviewer there did a great job with some in-depth reasrch that has been made…

Learning Spanish

The wave of popularity of learning Spanish will not be over soon. As it is the most practiced language in the entire world, there are many Television shows in Spanish to hook up on, many beautiful Latin girls to fall inlove with and many potential business associates who speak this lovely language.

Each for his own reason, I suppose, but there are many reasons and many individuals who want to focus their Spanish learning. Some want a basic intro so they’d be able to comprehend while other want their Spanish to be perfected. It’s a matter of immediate needs, with a mixture of character – but what we know for sure is that not every language program fits every person.

Luckily, there’s much variety in this area. I have found learn Spanish Miami as a great source that offers 3 of the best online Learn Spanish programs with a detailed review upon each. I think that not only Miami people could use it, but people from all over the world who wish to learn this language !

Thus spake Zarathustra

Thus spake Zarathustra (originally in German – also sprach zarathustra) is a one of the most influencing books of all times. It has complexed and very ground-breaking ideas that were known as blasphemy at the time that this book was written. The main concept regarding the death of god, and the mockery of Christianity and the “leaders” and “wise-men”, gathered with unique language and inside references to other philosophy concepts, make this book the bible of our times. Though it is not as comprehensive as the old nor the new testimony, each of the ideas that are brought up in this book could be easily evolved into a whole new book that concerns with them.

This book is not “worth reading”, it’s a must.

Audi Travolution device

You might not be down with the lingo, but if you regularly drive through urban areas, you’ve probably ridden the “green wave” at one point or another.

The drive starts out like any other, just a quick trip across town to pick up some dry cleaning. You drift effortlessly through the first green light and coast through the next intersection as well. To your growing amazement, you easily make the third traffic light, too. Will this streak of traffic luck hold out? Will you arrive at your destination without stopping for a single light?

For many, the green wave may seem something of a divine gift from the otherwise unsympathetic traffic gods. For hypermilers, however, there’s nothing supernatural about hitting all the lights just right. Like a gambler who works the mathematical odds instead of relying on lucky charms, these savvy individuals drive to beat the system. Hypermiling simply involves driving your vehicle in a manner that maximizes fuel efficiency and minimizes exhaust emissions — and a key way to achieve both is to cut out unnecessary stops and rapid accelerations.

More Car Gadgets

Frugal hypermilers live for increasing their vehicle’s gas mileage, but even the most experienced green wave rider has his or her limits. You may have a great feel for the road, but you can’t talk to the traffic lights. Or can you? In the German city of Ingolstadt, something peculiar is afoot. Certain luxury vehicles have been observed gliding effortlessly through intersections. Even when they’re forced to stop, they never seem to have to wait long. Who are these mysterious drivers, and what allows their cars to cut though the municipal traffic system?

It’s no coincidence that the vehicles are all Audis, and that the automotive manufacturer is headquartered in Ingolstadt. The Bavarian city is currently playing host to an experiment in the future of driving called Travolution. With Audi’s Travolution system, intelligent traffic lights talk to each other and cars talk to traffic lights, all to the benefit of human drivers.

Headstones

A new site in Israel gives you the best possible information regarding headstones.

It’s a new project that collects useful data that has not been gathered up until this very moment.

Due to the laws of Judism there are plenty do’s and don’ts regarding proper burial ceremonies and headstones. For example it is advisable that one’s headstone will be similar to his neighbor’s one so there won’t be “differences” between economical states.

Very useful, and well written.

11+

On Monday last the 11-plus examination in Northern Ireland was, in effect, privatised.

Although Sinn Féin’s education minister at Stormont, Catriona Ruane, officially abolished the transfer test for children from primary to secondary schools, the old exam is being resurrected.

This is primarily because Sinn Féin lost a critical battle in the talks leading to the St Andrews agreement in 2006 that ended with republicans power-sharing with the DUP.

The Democratic Unionist negotiators ensured that built into the St Andrews deal was a proviso that any future education minister would not be able to superimpose a non-academic selection system on schools.

It was the St Andrews agreement, which Sinn Féin signed up to, that has emasculated Ruane in her dealings with the grammar schools.

Her criteria for transfer, which includes no exams or testing at 11, are not enforceable by law as a result of the St Andrews agreement.

An increasing number of rebel grammar schools are at present unveiling their own private entrance tests. Some, such as Belfast Royal academy, have already devised and printed up test papers for three examinations this autumn. The majority of the grammars thus far have been in the state sector, which in the main draw pupils from the Protestant/unionist tradition.

In broad terms, the arguments over the 11-plus and grammar schools appear to divide on traditional unionist/loyalist v nationalist/republican lines.

Sinn Féin and the SDLP were in favour of abolishing selection at the age of 11 while the DUP and UUP have fought robustly to maintain the system.

However, there is a social and educational development which complicates this orange v green picture.

Several Catholic grammar schools, from Derry to Downpatrick to Belfast to Enniskillen, have announced that they are following the path of the state grammars and will hold their own private tests in the autumn.

The list of rebel Catholic grammars is growing and within the next week or two at least one Catholic girls’ school right in the heart of Gerry Adams’s West Belfast constituency is going down the route of a private entrance exam.

The Catholic grammars are openly denying the two parties their community votes in favour as well as their church’s hierarchy.

And they are doing so because of pressures from middle-class Catholic parents.

The schools’ boards of governors won’t say it too loud, but privately they are concerned about a religious/educational form of “white flight”.

In essence, the Catholic grammars know that if they completely abolished academic selection in favour of Ruane’s criteria (postcode, feeder primary schools, siblings at post-primary schools etc) middle-class Catholics would vote with their feet.

There is already a large number of Catholic middle-class children attending some of the top state grammars in Northern Ireland. Although they won’t say it in public, the boards believe more Catholic parents would opt for the state grammars in the absence of academic selection.

So, in the end, the Catholic grammars’ decision to draw up their own exams is down to a crude numbers game.

The 11-plus debacle has illuminated a fascinating dichotomy between the political preferences of Northern Ireland’s Catholic middle-class and their social conservatism.

For while they vote for parties on the “progressive” or leftwing side of the education argument, large sections of the Catholic middle class are actually with the unionists in wanting to maintain the grammar/secondary school divide.

Local trade unionists complain bitterly, and with some justification, that in supporting the 11-plus those Catholics who climbed up the social ladder despite decades of past unionist discrimination are now kicking that ladder away from a new generation of poorer coreligionists.

Yet appeals to communal loyalty will be drowned out by the aspirations of middle-class Catholic parents as they start to panic about what is going to happen to their 10- and 11-year-olds later this year.

It is a bizarre turn of events that these parents, many of them the type of voters Sinn Féin attracted over the last decade as republicans moved towards politics and abandoned “armed struggle”, now find common cause with DUP and Ulster Unionist politicians.

If the DUP or UUP are strategically minded they might start talking up the academic excellence of Catholic grammar schools and emphasise that they are on the side of those Catholic parents who want selection at 11 to survive.

Still surviving

Well we haven’t had much to write about in the last couple of weeks but let me tell you this -

We are up for big surprises…. then we will have more unique articles on a daily basis.

Until then, let’s just share some tips of getting healthier

Tip 1 on Staying Healthy: Get off your butt!
For a long time I was an addict of computers. Gaming, programming anything to do with computers I was into it. I loved to program and play video games. I loved it so much I missed out on my High School years. I blew off my best friend and did not even tell him goodbye when he moved away, how sad is that? The best advice is to get off your butt and do something. If you sit around your house all day playing on computers your missing out on a whole world of fun. This does not mean give up the computer. Just limit your time, say an hour or two a day. Play a family game or meet up with some friends. The computer is not everything in life. I try to limit myself to an hour a day ofcomputer time. I am glad I do. I give myself 30 minutes for playing a game and 30 minutes for talking with people. The rest I figure out something fun to do.

Computers will not be around forever, so do not waste your life living on them. That is perhaps the biggest regret of my life. I missed out on too much fun while I was young and ended becoming very unhealthy in my attitude, appearance and my state of mind. I became addicted. Do not be like me!

Tip 2 on Staying Healthy: Strive to Learn
Learning is important to anyone. While you are young learn as much as you can. The older you get the harder learning becomes. Even at he age of 21, I can tell a huge difference now than earlier in my life at trying to learn new skills and knowledge. Learning and keeping yourself up to date is very important to living a healthy life. But just like with anything, do not consume yourself into learning. What good does knowledge do if there is no one to share it with? Have fun with what you have learned. Go out with friends and maybe even incorperate what you have learned with that good time. For instance if you just learned the rules of raquette ball, hell go play some raquette ball! Great sport and fun to do with 4 people or even 8 people! Learning does not always have to be limited to boring stuff. Learn a new sport, or even find a subject that interests you and strive to learn that. I would love to learn Spanish and one of these days I will take a full fledged course with a trip to Mexico just to learn it.

Learning is the one thing that no matter who you are you can always do more of. If you want to learn programming just ask me. I love to program and I am damn good at it. Just a simple ask and I will be happy to teach you. Better yet take a class for it. I can always help out with any questions you may have.

Tip 3 on Staying Healthy: Do What you Love
Make finding what you want to do in life your highest priority. Once you find that do it! Money is not always happiness. There are certain circumstances that can get in the way but those are just minor detours. Figure out what in life makes you happy and find out if you can do that for the rest of your life. I am still trying to find out what I love to do in life. I like computers but not enough to want to work on them for the rest of my life. I am still searching for what I want to become. I know I love to hunt, but I need to learn more about that type of work before I can make an educated decision if that is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have been working on figuring out what I want to do for the past 3 years and I still have yet to make a decision. For now I will do what needs to be done, but know once I figure out what I want to do I will do it. Even if I am 50 by the time I figure out, at some point in my life I will do what I love for a living or just for fun!

Tip 4 on Staying Healthy: Work for Something
One of the major flaws I see anywhere is people do not have anything to work for. Well work for something! Do not just go through the motions of life working for nothing. Find something that you are working for. Whether it be working for your family, your dog, or even your own happiness. Work for something. Without something good to work for work seems and is pointless. You will not put 100% effor into your job without having a purpose other than being fired. Think of an item that is positive to work for. Even if it is working for a trip to Europre in 2 years. That is something to work for. Set goals and meet them. Your life will have new meaning and your efforts will not go without reward!

Tip 5 on Staying Healthy: Emotions Mean Everything
Emotions are what make humans, well humans. Our emotions hold us back and can push us to do stuff. I know my emotions hold me back alot. My plan will be to figure out what these emotions are, the situations these emotions arise, and how can I fix it for next time. My biggest emotional problem is with meeting new people, particularly a female. I am very shy and I like to stay quiet until I know what and who that person is. I come off as being very rude. Not meaning to be, but it still happens. One of my goals in life is to be able to meet new people and talk to them without coming off being rude or blowing them off. This is a major step for me as I am very shy person. Once I overcome that I will be very happy. Try not to let your emotions get the best of you.

Depression is a very serious emotion. I know I had a problem with my body from my thyroid which made me very depressed. I did not want to do anything or talk to anyone. Even my girlfriend of 2 years I found it hard to talk to her. One day I got really numb and figured something was wrong with me and sought help. I found that when my dog, Gus, got ran over two year ago it kicked in my thyroid problem full speed. Thyroid controls a lot of emotions and physcial attributes to your body. I gained 30lbs without blinking and did not want anything to do with anyone. After meeting with the doctor he found out I did have a thyroid problem and immediatley put me on medication. 6 months later I am doing great! Just like everyone I still get depressed. Being depressed is a fact of life. Just do not let it control your life. Self-pity is perhaps the number one problem I see with anyone. I know I did it for a long time. STOP IT! Do not self-pity yourself. You will not get any help from me. It is dumb stop feeling sorry for yourself. All people will think you to be a whiney idiot. STOP IT! Learn that life does not revolve around you! STOP IT! There are other people who are worse off than you. STOP IT!

Ending Notes
With these 5 tips hopefully you can learn that live a healthy life. I know I am going to give these 5 tips a whirl. Along with trying to live by them I will try to eat healthier and workout frequently. Do not get down on yourself, just stop saying you will do it and DO IT. Follow through with your actions. If you do stuff for a while and get really tired, take a break for a day or two. Just do not let that breaking become a habit. There are enough hours in the day. Keep a journal every night. Your memory will only get worse. Hold what you have in your memories in those journals. I know your kids and grandkids and great grandkids will thank you for it later!

Online dating tips

Establishing Online Dating Relationships: Safety First

Online dating can be fun. But don’t neglect safety and common sense when you try to hook up with a mate. At minimum, take caution in the following areas.

Protect Your Computer

Take care of your equipment and systems before you head out into the Internet realm. You need to have a firewall and anti-virus protection for your email and for when you search websites and interact online. At the bare minimum, you may want these two solutions that are offered at no charge to home computer users (i.e. not for commercial use):

Free Firewall Download: ZoneAlarm www.zonelabs.com
Free Anti-Virus Download: AVG Anti-Virus www.grisoft.com

Protect Yourself

Take care of yourself, too, by choosing appropriate dating sites. Seek and choose a reputable online dating service.  How? Begin by asking around with friends, neighbors, co-workers and others you may know who have tried online dating, and see which places they recommend. In addition, search “online dating services” and keep a notebook of their URLs or website links, the fees, rules and regulations, complete contact information of each and any other useful information that spikes your interest. Then compare each place.  Try only those places where you feel safe. Avoid the others.

So take care. Arm your computer – and yourself- with the correct tools and knowledge!
